Complete identity verification for Indian users, international users, and students on HostUp Cloud.
KYC Verification
Know Your Customer (KYC) verification is required for full access to HostUp Cloud services. As per CERT-In regulations, all users must verify their identity within 30 days of account creation.
Do I Need KYC?
After signing up, you have two options:

Some features may be restricted until KYC is verified. We recommend completing verification during or immediately after signup for uninterrupted access.
Verification by User Type
The verification process depends on your country and account type:

Starting Verification
- Log in to auth.hostupcloud.com.
- Go to KYC from the sidebar, or click the KYC verification banner on your dashboard.
- Choose Complete KYC Verification.
- Select your country (India or International) and account type (Individual, Student, or Organization).
- Follow the steps for your user type below.
Indian Individual Verification
Instant verification using Aadhaar and DigiLocker.
Requirements
- Aadhaar card (12-digit number)
- Mobile number linked to your Aadhaar (for OTP)
Process
- Select India and Individual.
- Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- You'll be redirected to DigiLocker (Government of India's digital document platform).
- Sign in or create a DigiLocker account.
- Authorize HostUp Cloud to access your Aadhaar document.
- Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Verification completes instantly — your account is now fully verified.
Your Aadhaar number is stored in masked format (XXXX-XXXX-1234) for security. We extract your name, date of birth, and address from DigiLocker for verification purposes only.
Indian Student Verification
Special verification for students at recognized Indian institutions.
Requirements
- Valid college/university ID card (photo ID)
- Institutional email address (e.g., name@iitb.ac.in, name@bits-pilani.ac.in)
- Enrollment certificate or bonafide letter (optional)
- Aadhaar card or other government ID
- Current semester fee receipt (optional)
Process
- Select India and Student.
- Choose your college from the list (or select Other).
- Enter your institutional email address.
- A 6-digit OTP is sent to your college email — enter it to verify.
- Upload your college ID card (required) and any additional documents.
- Submit for review.
College email OTP verification ensures you are a current student. The OTP expires in 10 minutes and you get up to 5 attempts. You can request a new OTP after 60 seconds.
Student verification is reviewed manually and typically takes 24–72 hours. You'll receive an email notification when your verification is approved.
Indian Organization Verification
For GST-registered businesses and companies operating in India.
Requirements
- GSTIN (GST Identification Number)
- Certificate of Incorporation
- PAN Card of the business
- Board Resolution authorizing the signatory
- Authorized signatory's Aadhaar/PAN
- Business address proof
Process
- Select India and Organization.
- The authorized signatory completes instant Aadhaar verification via DigiLocker (same as individual flow).
- Upload business documents (GSTIN, incorporation certificate, PAN, etc.).
- Submit for review.
Authorized person verification is instant via DigiLocker. Business document review typically takes 24–72 hours.
International Individual Verification
For users outside India, verification is powered by Stripe Identity.
Requirements
- Valid passport (bio-data page), driving licence, or national ID card
- Selfie for identity matching
- Current residential address
Process
- Select International and Individual.
- You'll be redirected to Stripe Identity.
- Upload your identity document (passport, driving licence, or ID card).
- Take a live selfie for face matching (photos of photos are not accepted).
- Enter your personal details (name, date of birth, address).
- Submit for verification.
Stripe Identity verification typically takes 24–48 hours. You'll be notified by email when complete.
Stripe Identity requires a live selfie capture to prevent fraud. Make sure you're in a well-lit environment with a clear view of your face.
International Organization Verification
For businesses registered outside India.
Requirements
- Business registration certificate
- Tax identification number (TIN/EIN)
- Articles of incorporation
- Board Resolution authorizing the signatory
- Director/Officer ID documents (passport or national ID)
- Proof of business address
- Bank verification letter
Process
- Select International and Organization.
- The authorized person completes Stripe Identity verification (same as international individual).
- Upload business registration documents.
- Submit for review.
Review typically takes 24–72 hours. Additional documents may be requested via email.
KYC Status
After submitting your verification, you can check the status at any time from KYC > Status in your dashboard.

| Pending | Verification submitted, awaiting processing |
| Under Review | Your documents are being reviewed |
| Verified | Verification successful — full access granted |
| Rejected | Verification failed — you can retry immediately |
| Additional Documents Required | Admin has requested more information |
If Your Verification Is Rejected
Common reasons for rejection:
- Blurry or unreadable document images
- Name mismatch between document and account
- Expired documents
- Incomplete document uploads
You can retry verification immediately with correct documents. Go to KYC > Verify and submit again.
If Additional Documents Are Requested
If an admin requests more information:
- You'll receive an email notification.
- Go to KYC > Status in your dashboard.
- Upload the requested documents and add any comments.
- Your verification will be reviewed again (24–72 hours).
