Small24 GB80 GB SSDSmall apps, staging
Medium48 GB160 GB SSDProduction apps, databases
Large816 GB320 GB SSDHigh-traffic apps, analytics
XL1632 GB640 GB SSDEnterprise workloads

Features

  • Instant provisioning — Instances are ready in under 60 seconds
  • Root access — Full SSH root access to your instance
  • OS options — Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Windows Server
  • Snapshots — Create point-in-time snapshots for backup or cloning
  • Private networking — Instances in the same region can communicate over a private VLAN at no extra cost
  • Firewall — Cloud firewall rules managed via the portal or API
  • Monitoring — Built-in CPU, RAM, disk, and network monitoring dashboards
  • API access — Full REST API for programmatic instance management

Cloud compute instances are billed hourly. Stopped instances still incur charges for reserved disk and IP resources. Destroy instances you no longer need to stop billing.

Scaling

  • Vertical scaling — Resize instances to a larger type with a reboot
  • Horizontal scaling — Deploy multiple instances behind a load balancer
  • Auto-scaling — Available on Enterprise plans with custom threshold rules

Backup Best Practices

  1. Enable automated daily backups on all production instances.
  2. Take a manual snapshot before any major changes (OS updates, migrations).
  3. Periodically test restoring from a backup to verify data integrity.
  4. Use off-site backups for disaster recovery — they are stored in a separate physical location.

Backups are not a substitute for a disaster recovery plan. Ensure you have documented recovery procedures and regularly test them.
